We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 3 2017 (July - September) in Uganda, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement serviceis currently available.
Radio
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations for Central Region in Uganda for Q3 2017, using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Central Region are examined.
The below chart shows the average ratings of the top stations in Central Region in Uganda throughout the day.
There is a stiff competition for the first position in ratings between CBS Radio and Capital FM. CBS Radio takes the lead during morning show and between 8-10PM while Capital FM leads between 10AM to 4PM. Between 4-8PM there was a tie in ratings between CBS Radio and Capital FM with an average of 3.8
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q3 2017 In Central Region, Uganda:
CBS Radio tends to lead in share with 12% followed by Capital FM and Radio Simba with 11% and 8% respectively in Central region, Uganda.
The numbers are similar to Q2, although share across the entire day is just slightly lower on CBS and Capital which were both at 13% in Q2. Salt has a slight increase from 5% to 6% in Q3.
Terms defined:
Share = The proportion listening to a station, out of all of those listening at that time. For example, Station1 / (People Using Radio) = 10/40 = 25%
Rating = The proportion listening to a station out of total sample at that time multiplied by 100. For example, 100*Station1/Sample Size = 100 * 10 / 80 = 12.5.
Television
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations for Central Region in Uganda for Q3, 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations for Central Region in Uganda are examined.
The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations for Central Region in Uganda during peak hours which is from 7PM to 10 PM.
TV Viewers in Q3, 2017 have their loyalty to NTV during peak hours with its highest point being spotted at 7PM with an average of 6.2. Bukedde consistently takes the second position in ratings during peak hours.
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q3 2017 In Central Region, Uganda:
NTV leads in share with 17% followed by Bukedde and NBS with a share of 14% and 12% respectively in Q3, 2017. Spark TV achieves the fourth position with a share of 8%.
