Nigeria Quarter 3 2017; Radio & TV Audience Ratings Report
We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 3 2017 (July - September) in Nigeria, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available.
Radio
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at the national level in Nigeria for Q3 2017, using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Nigeria are examined.
The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Nigeria throughout the day.
In Nigeria, there is a stiff competition of listeners for Ray Power FM and Wazobia FM. Ray Power FM has its peak spotted between 6PM to 10PM with an average of 2.6 while the peak for Wazobia FM lies between 10AM to Noon with an average of 2.8.
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q3 2017:
Ray Power FM and Wazobia FM have the most share of 8% each followed by Cool FM and Rhythm FM with a share of 6% and 4% respectively.
Television
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at the national level in Nigeria for Q3 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Nigeria are examined.
The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Nigeria during peak hours which is from 7PM to 10 PM.
Zee World TV has the highest ratings from 7PM to 9PM with its peak being from 7-8PM with an average of 3.1. Channels TV attains more ratings than Zee World from 9-10PM. AIT consistently maintains the third position in ratings during peak hours.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q3, 2017.
Channels TV has the highest share of TV Viewers with 10% followed by Zee World and AIT with a share of 8% each. NTA is asked at the regional level for each state, and the ratings for each individual NTA station combine to account for a large % of the ‘Other’ stations outside of the top 10.
