Ratings Report
We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 3 2017 (July-Sept) in Kenya, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available.
Radio
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at the national level in Kenya for Q3 2017, using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Kenya are examined.
The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Kenya throughout the day.
Radio Citizen has the highest ratings throughout the day having its peak being between 6-8AM with an average of 5.1. Radio Maisha attains the second position in ratings followed by Jambo throughout the day.
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q3 2017:
Radio Citizen and Radio Maisha have the highest shares of 15% and 12% respectively. The top vernacular stations in Kenya have a share of 3% each.
Television
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at the national level in Kenya for Q3 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Kenya are examined.
The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Kenya during peak hours which is from 7PM to 10PM.
Citizen TV has captured a lot of affinity of TV viewers during peak hours. The highest ratings are spotted as from 8.30PM to 9.30PM where there is an average of 9.2 and 9.1 respectively. There is a stiff competition between KTN and NTV for the second position in ratings.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q3, 2017.
Citizen TV takes the leading spot in share with 28% followed by a great difference of 14% share from KTN which is the second. NTV and KTN News attains the 3rd and 4th positions respectively with a share of 11% each.
