Tanzania Q1 2017 Radio & TV Audience

Using the daily data collected through GeoPoll's Media Measurement Service, GeoPoll has analyzed the top Radio stations at the national level in Tanzania for Q1 2017. We examined both ratings and share for the top stations in Tanzania. The below chart shows the average ratings for the top stations throughout the day:
Clouds consistently takes the lead in ratings nationally throughout the day with its highest ratings being between 2-4PM with an average of 8.11. Radio Free Africa is the clear second most listened to station between 6AM-4PM and 6PM-8PM. TBC Taifa is the second most listened to between 4PM-6PM and 8PM-10PM. There is a stiff competition amongst the other Radio Stations throughout the day.
GeoPoll also examined average share for Q1 2017
Amongst the top 10 stations, Clouds achieves the top spot with an average of 23.7% followed with a great difference by Radio Free Africa averaging 9.1% and at third position is TBC Taifa which has an average of 6.9%.
The highest percentage of other indicates a large number of radio stations in Tanzania which broadcast at a regional level.

We examined both ratings and share for the top stations in Tanzania. The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations during the peak hours, from 19:00 to 21:30.
There is a stiff competition amongst the TV stations in Tanzania during peak hours. However, from 8-9:00PM, ITV takes a dramatic lead in ratings nationally. The highest ITV ratings were at 8PM with an average of 6.71 followed by at 8.30PM with an average of 6.29.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q1 2017.
Clouds takes the lead in share nationally with an average of 20.6% followed by East Africa TV with an average of 16.8%. ITV achieves the third in position with an average of 15.7%, and TBC1 sits in fourth with an average of 11.6%.
