Afghanistan Quarter 4 2017: Radio & TV Audience

We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 4 2017 (October - December) in Afghanistan, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available.
Radio
GeoPoll has used its daily data which is collected through its Media Measurement Service to analyze the top 10 radio stations in Afghanistan for Q4, 2017. They have analyzed both ratings and share of the stations at the national level.
The chart below shows the ratings of the top 10 radio stations in Afghanistan throughout the day.
Arman FM is the first in ratings throughout the day with its peak being between 4-6PM. Radio Azadi takes the 2nd position in ratings as from 6AM to 6PM then Khurshid FM takes over the 2nd position thereafter.
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q4, 2017.
Arman FM has the highest audience share of 16% followed by Radio Azadi and Khurshid FM with 9% and 8% shares respectively. BBC Radio, Arakozia FM and Jawanan FM split their shares of 6%.
People listening to other stations outside the top 10, which broadcast across the country at a regional level, account for the remaining 31% share.
Television
GeoPoll has used its daily data which is collected through its Media Measurement Service to analyze the top TV stations in Afghanistan for Q4, 2017. They have analyzed both ratings and share of the stations at the national level.
The chart below shows the ratings of the top 10 TV stations in Afghanistan during peak hours i.e 19:00 to 21:30.
TV Viewers in Afghanistan are loyal to Tolo TV during Peak hours. The highest ratings of Tolo TV are spotted at 7PM and 9PM with an average of 2.2. There is a stiff competition for the 2nd position in ratings between Tolo News and Khurshid TV.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q4, 2017.
Tolo TV has the most audience share of 22% which is 13% more than Tolo News which is ranked the 2nd. Khurshid TV and Yak (1) TV split their share of 7%.
