Ratings Report
We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 2 2017 in Uganda, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement serviceis currently available.
Radio
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations for Central Region in Uganda for Q2 2017, using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Central Region are examined. The below chart shows the average ratings of the top stations in Central Region in Uganda throughout the day.
CBS Radio takes the lead in ratings as from 6AM-10AM and between 8PM-10PM while Capital FM leads between 10AM-8PM. Both CBS Radio and Capital FM are having their highest ratings between 6-8AM with averages 5.57 and 5.16 respectively. There is a stiff competition between Radio Simba and KFM for the third position in ratings.
GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q2 2017 In Central Region Uganda:
According to the table above, Capital FM achieves the highest share of 13.4% in Central Region followed by CBS Radio and Radio Simba with an average share of 13.1% and 8.1% respectively.
Television
GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at the national level in Uganda for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Uganda are examined.
The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Uganda during peak hours i.e. from 19:00 to 21:30.
NTV takes the lead in ratings during peak hours followed by Bukedde and NBS respectively. NTV achieved its highest ratings at around 9PM with an average of 6.80.
GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q2, 2017.
NTV still takes the lead with an audience share of 21.4% followed by Bukedde and NBS with audience share of 13.9% and 9.6% respectively in Q2.
Terms defined
Share = The proportion watching a station, out of all of those watching at that time. For example, Station1 / (People Using TV) = 10/40 = 25%
Rating= The proportion watching a station out of total sample at that time multiplied by 100. For example, 100*Station1/Sample Size = 100 * 10 / 80 = 12.5.
