Ghana Quarter 2 2017; Radio & TV Audience Ratings Report


We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 2 2017 in Ghana, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available . 

Radio

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at regional level in Western-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Western-Ghana are examined.

The below chart shows the average ratings for the top stations in Western-Ghana throughout the day.

Goodnews FM has the most ratings throughout the day with a slight difference from Skyy Power FM which takes the lead between 2-4PM with an average of 2.52. Goodnews FM has its highest point being between 6-8AM with an average of 4.27.

GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q2 2017 in Western-Ghana:

In the top 10 stations, Goodnews FM takes the lead with a share of 12.1% followed by Twin City FM and Space FM with a share of 7.4% and 7.3% respectively. People listening to ‘Other’ radio stations which are not in the top 10, accounts for the remaining 31.6% share.

Radio: Ashanti 

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at regional level in Ashanti-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Ashanti-Ghana are examined.

The below chart shows the average ratings for the top stations in Ashanti-Ghana throughout the day.

Hello FM leads in ratings throughout the day with its highest ratings being between 6-8AM with an average of 6.96. Kessben FM takes the second position in ratings throughout the day except between 2-4PM where Nhyira FM overtakes it.

Amongst the top 10 stations in Ashanti region, Hello FM has the highest share of 15.6% followed by Kessben FM (12.4%) then Nhyira FM (10.6%). People listening to ‘Other’ radio stations which are not in the top 10, accounts for the remaining 26.8% share.

Radio: Accra

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at regional level in Greater Accra-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Greater Accra-Ghana are examined.

The below chart shows the average ratings for the top stations in Greater Accra-Ghana throughout the day.

Peace FM leads in ratings in Greater Accra region throough out the day except between 12-2PM and 6-8PM where Adom FM takes the lead. Peace has its highest ratings around 6-8AM with an average of 4.91 while Adom FM being between 6-8PM with an average of 3.87.

Television
Ashanti

 

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at regional level in Ashanti-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Ashanti-Ghana are examined.

The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Ashanti-Ghana during peak hours i.e. from 19:00 to 21:30.

There is a stiff competition for the first position in ratings between UTV and Adom TV in Ashanti Ghana. The highest point for UTV is at 8PM with an average of 6.69 while for Adom TV is at 7.30PM with an average of 7.00.

Television; Accra

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at regional level in Greater Accra-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Greater Accra-Ghana are examined.

The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Greater Accra-Ghana during peak hours i.e. from 19:00 to 21:30.

During peak hours in Greater Accra Ghana, UTV have the most ratings with its highest point being at 8.30PM with an average of 6.65. TV3 consistently achieves the second position in ratings during peak hours with its highest ratings being at 7PM with an average of 4.39.

GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q2, 2017 in Greater Accra-Ghana:

UTV has the highest share in Greater Accra Ghana of 18.8% followed by TV3 (12.4%) and Adom TV (10.6%).

Television: Western Ghana

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at regional level in Western-Ghana for Q2 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Western-Ghana are examined.

The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Western-Ghana during peak hours i.e. from 19:00 to 21:30.

Adom TV has the most ratings in Western Ghana during peak hours. Its highest ratings happens to be at 8PM with an average of 10.07. The second in ratings is Joy Prime with its highest ratings being at 8.30PM with an average of 5.12.

GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q2, 2017 in Western Ghana-Ghana:

Adom TV has the top spot with a share of 25.1% followed with a great difference of 6.3% by Joy Prime with a share of 18.8%. UTV achieves the third position with a share of 11.3%.
