We are pleased to provide you with a Media Measurement report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 3 2017 (July - September) in Afghanistan, where the GeoPoll Media Measurement service is currently available.

Radio

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 radio stations at the national level in Afghanistan for Q3 2017, using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Afghanistan are examined.

The chart below shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Afghanistan throughout the day.

There is a consistency in Arman FM ratings for the top spot throughout the day. Arman FM’s highest spot is observed between 4-6PM with an average of 2.6. There is a stiff competition amongst the other radio stations.

GeoPoll also took into account the average share for Q3 2017:

There is great difference in share between the first station which is Arman FM and BBC Radio by 8%. BBC Radio and Azad Radio have an equal share of 9%.

Television

GeoPoll has analyzed the top 10 TV stations at the national level in Afghanistan for Q3 2017 using the daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service. Both ratings and share for the top stations in Afghanistan are examined.

The below chart shows the average ratings for the top 10 stations in Afghanistan during peak hours which is from 7PM to 10 PM.

TV viewers in Afghanistan are more loyal to Tolo TV station during peak hours. The highest ratings for Tolo TV is spotted at 8PM with an average of 3.0. There is a stiff competition for the second position amongst Tolo News, Khurshid TV and Yak (1) TV.

GeoPoll also examined average share across the entire day during Q3, 2017

Tolo TV have the highest share of 22% followed by a difference of more than 10% by Tolo News. Khurshid TV and Yak (1) TV attains the 3rd and 4th positions with a share of 8% and 7% respectively.
